1) If I commission you for a painting do I pay for the painting before it is started?
A. I ask only for the cost of materials of which you will receive a receipt to begin your work of art.
You may make your final payment when your work is finished.

2) Do you take credit cards ?
A. Yes through PayPal.

3) How do you paint?
A. I find painting to be very relaxing and I usually paint in a comfortable chair where I can see out of doors
or I sit out on my balcony which is surrounded by beautiful big trees! I only use for the most part red,
yellow, blue and white paint. I mix all my colors including black. I end up having two or three favorite
brushes although I own several more and my palette that I mix my colors on is quite a mess! However I
am used to it and so it works for me.If I am painting in watercolor I let a wash of water coat the paper then
apply color and watch as clouds form and my imagination begins to work out a picture before me. Other
times I draw with pencil beforehand and then use my water and deliberately place my color using a drier
brush with more intensity of color.

When I am painting with acrylic I paint a background color all over the canvas ( which is the most
tedious part for me as I want to get on with the subject matter)! Next with a brush I lightly paint in my
subject or if it is in my imagination, I start from the top of the canvas and paint as I go bringing it out from
my thoughts.

I encourage everyone that has a love for painting, drawing etc.to relax, get comfortable and have some
fun! First draw circles, shapes get used to the way your hand feels with the pencil and paper. Notice how
the buildings, trees, flowers etc.are all shapes.Try drawing them without looking at the paper. This helps
your eye hand coordination develop more thoroughly. At first you may feel your drawing has something to
be desired but don't give up you will be surprised as you improve!!

4) How long have you painted?
A. I guess it has been about 50 years now and I am still learning and observing!! I was 11 when I began I
mostly sketched and used pastels as that was what I had at my disposal.

5) What kind of commission paintings have you enjoyed the most?
A. I would have to say the ones where we use a little imagination and blend different ideas and perhaps a
little whimsy. For instance one I did was a take off of a theme similar to an Alice in Wonderland tea party look although
I painted it putting my granddaughters in the painting (this one was a gift).Others have been where a client
shows me a photo that they really are drawn to and they want me to paint a take off from that picture
adding my artistic interpretation.

6) Is there anyway I can see my painting as it progresses?
A. Yes! I will email pictures on a weekly basis from beginning to end. I feel this personalizes the
painting, pastel sketch etc. by letting you be a part of the whole process!
